Although we are always looking for peace and relaxation on our vacation, sometimes they can turn out to be quite the opposite. The stress that comes along with navigating unfamiliar destinations, especially when traveling with a large family, can ruin a holiday. If you want to make your vacation go as smoothly as possible, here are a few useful tips.

First, reserve, book, and plan as much ahead of possible. For example, book your car rental and have it waiting to be picked up at the airport, buy tickets for any shows or events, and reserve all aspects of your holiday before you go. This way, you won’t have any unwanted surprises to handle when you get there.

Second, always have a backup plan. When it comes to traveling with small children, for instance, you’ll need to have plenty to occupy your time. Consider museums and other indoor venues in case the weather goes south, or other unexpected obstacles arise. Making the most of your time means you should always have a variety of things you can see and do, so you’re never caught off guard. Also be sure to pack any precautionary necessities, such as familiar cold and flu medications etc.

Peaceful nights are just a dream for UK couples as one in four confesses to sleeping in separate

bedrooms to escape a partner with unbearable bedtime habits, according to new research released

today. Those who do share a bed are robbed of more than 70 minutes sleep a night by noisy, restless

and duvet-hogging partners. That’s more than eight hours a week, or almost two years over the

lifetime of long-term a relationship.

The study of 4,000 couples by Etap Hotel reveals that snoring is the number one night time

disturbance for couples, causing 75 per cent of people to lose out on sleep. And it’s having a

detrimental effect on couple’s relationships with nearly a quarter of people harbouring feelings of

resentment towards their partner, and lack of sleep causing arguments in 43 per cent of

relationships. Sex drive suffers in over a quarter of relationships and one in twenty people would

even consider splitting up with someone because of their snoring problem.

It seems that celeb couples suffer too with Tom Cruise, Sid Owen and Kevin Jonas amongst those

reported to sleep separately from their other halves because of a serious snoring problem.

Also high on the list of nocturnal bug-bears for couples in the survey was stealing the bedcovers (a

problem for 58 per cent of people); restless limbs (52 per cent of people); muttering, mumbling and

moaning (49 per cent); and one in three experience a problem with their partner talking out loud in

their sleep.

The most restless region of the country is East Anglia which has the highest incidence of snoring,

duvet stealing, tossing and turning, and sleep walking, while people in Northern Ireland are the most

likely to talk in their sleep. Passive-snoring sufferers in Wales are most likely to unleash a verbal

assault on their slumbering partner, whereas the sleep deprived of the North East get physical, being

the most likely to shove their partner out of bed.

But it’s not just snorers and their partners who suffer, lack of sleep is responsible for 62 per cent of

people being short-tempered with friends and colleagues, and 60 per cent of people say they

experience problems with poor concentration at work.

In response to the research, Etap Hotel is trialling a special package for sleep-deprived couples who

wish to sleep apart.

Watch the videos and see how snoring can follow you everywhere

Spending luxury holidays is no longer only accessible to the privileged few. And we’re not talking about taking a credit loan to cover up holiday expenses, we’re talking about being clever when it comes to picking your holiday destination, the timing of your holiday and what hotel you’re going to.

The major expenses when going on holiday are the plane ticket to your destination and the stay at the hotel. Naturally, taking a first class flight and staying in any of the luxury hotels out there, the prices will stack up. But if you’re planning your holiday around a luxury stay at a top notch hotel, you’ll be glad to know you won’t necessarily have to break the bank for it. Finding good deals on hotels is all a matter of shopping around, picking your dates carefully and having a lot of patience.

First of all, take a quick tour of the travel agencies closer to you. Travel deals are often bought in bulk by the agencies so they can access special discounts that you won’t. But don’t compromise before looking at prices online. Most, if not all hotels list their prices online and allow you to book online, so you can use that to your advantage to shop around and compare prices.

If you are considering the UK for your next holiday, you will have plenty of popular and exciting destinations to choose from. From the long time favorite of London, England, to the more off beat Glasgow, Scotland, you will find yourself struggling to choose a favorite. If you have never been to the UK, or even if you are a returning visitor looking for something new, you need to give Belfast a try.

Located in Northern Island, being both the capital and the largest city, Belfast is a tourist favorite and all around diverse city. You can have it all, from thrilling nights with friends, to art galleries with the family, to attractions with the kids. Belfast is also known for being budget friendly, which makes it big with youth travelers and backpackers. There are cheap flights to Belfast, as well as a variety of hostels and budget hotels to keep your wallet in tact.

Often tourists who are drawn to the UK head straight for London or another one of England’s beloved cities. This means many crowds and boring sight seeing if you have been there more than once. If you want something new to see in the UK, try Northern Ireland.

No Cornwall holiday would be complete without at lest one day at the beach be it to eat ice creams and build sandcastle or to ride the waves, and with over 300 to choose from you are really spoilt for choice.

The sheer abundance of beaches in Cornwall is due to its unique position in the southwest of England with 80% of Cornwall being surrounded by water creating the longest stretch of coastline of any county in the UK at 697km long.

Wherever you go in Cornwall you are never more than 16 miles from the coast so it’s no wonder that so many people spend so much time down by the sea.

The different regions of Cornwall play host to different beaches and coastline. If you fancy catching some waves or simply want to spend your day on a vast expanse of golden sand watching waves break along the shore then you should head to the beaches in the north of the county. For more secluded coves and sheltered bays, you should make your way to the beaches found along Cornwall’s southern coastline. The most fun way of discovering where the best beaches are though is to find them yourselves!

A number of great water sport opportunities can be had on many of the beaches right across Cornwall. Surfing is of course one of the most popular water sports with Cornwall being regarded as one of the premier surfing locations in all of Europe. Other great activities include diving, wind surfing, kayaking and sailing.

So when your next staying in one of the many Cornwall cottages found in the county make sure you explore some of Cornwall’s gorgeous coastline and see for your self why so many people love it.
