Famous People of the World

Every state and country on this planet has their own famous people. There are people who made a change, invented something or broke a record to name just a few instances. Jamaica famous people have a long list of accomplishments even though there are only three million people in the population.
Each one has an different background and not all come from the esteemed class. Musicians are the most easily identified and this list is lead by none other than Bob Marley. There are a few athletes such as Asafa Powell, a sprinter along with Donald Quarrie, the Jamaican 200 metre gold medalist. Other musicians such as Sean Paul, Orville Richard Burrell, better known as Shaggy and Canibus were all born in Jamaica.
Busta Rhymes, a Grammy nominated American rapper, actor and songwriter was born to Jamaican parents but he was born in Brooklyn. Jamaica has also given us Patrick Ewing, a retired Hall of Fame basketball player and Lennox Lewis, a World Champion Boxer. And don’t forget the winner of the Scripps National Spelling Bee, Jody-Ann Maxwell. Famous people come from all walks of life to make their mark on the world and be put in our history books.
