Whether you buy your airline ticket from a travel agent or from an online travel site, the guidelines will remain the same.  Basically, round trip flights to London from the US will cost between seven to twelve hundred dollars and then that are taxes and surcharges add to that amount.
As you are searching for you flight overseas, don’t just grab the cheapest ticket that you come across.  Think about the flexibility and reliability of your travel needs.  If something happens and you need to change your flight, the less expensive ticket might have a penalty to charge you.  Once you have your flight dates arranged, then start looking for your ticket.  As time passes, many departure dates will sell out and that means that the cost for a seat will go up.  You might come across special deals that are offered for a few seats and so  shopping for your ticket four to six months in advance will get the you best price.

This means that if you are wanting to travel in the spring time, begin your search for tickets in January or February. The sooner the better is always a good rule of thumb when it comes to airline flights.
