The state of Alaska is one of the most beautiful states in the country, with stunning landscape and pristine nature. There is plenty to do here, including camping, guided tours, hiking, and of course dining. Here are some things you cant miss on your next trip to Alaska.
Iditarod Headquarters in Wasilla is where you can learn all about this epic dog sled race. On the first Saturday in March, the ceremonial prelude takes place in Anchorage, and the race begins the next day in Wasilla.
Also in Anchorage, is the Alaska Native Heritage Center, where you can learn about the native people from Alaska as well as their customs and arts. You can see their homes, ancient practices and get an understanding about the importance of fishing and hunting in this region.
Last but not least is the Seal Life Center in Seward. In the wake of the Exxon Valdez oil spill, this center was created to help protect and rehabilitate the animals, as well as educate people. There are plenty of hands on exhibits and information on the ecosystem.
